"I am searching for the meaning of the concept of beauty"

I was born in Malines (Belgium) and I studied there at the Royal Academy of Arts. I have been working, amongst others, in France and in the United States and at the moment I am living in the Netherlands. I regularly leave my studio in Maasdam, to go and paint in France (Ardèche). I am searching for the meaning of the concept of "beauty", such a suspect and obsolete concept of our days. Certainly, I have got my own intentions on the works I create, but it is exactly the fact that they always refer to the human situation which makes them accessible to many people. This allows the spectator to play with the elements on the surface of the picture, to arrange them differently and thus to imagine a new story every day.
