"I just try to reflect a world somewhere between reality and the dreams"

When working as a painter, I just try to reflect a world somewhere between reality and the dreams. I also try to show a place that suggests tranquillity, the beginning of an evening or a night, when you start to fall asleep or you try to escape for a while… This is why my works present messy tables, maybe with some fruit on them, or a cup with coffee dregs or tea leaves… My characters let themselves go, to rest for a few moments. Landscapes coming through windows (windows as the representation of your own space, real or not) are evidently inspired by the Mediterranean, especially marine landscapes, because the sea brings to me the perfect sense of peace. I try to harmonise these elements through a range of colours similar to those ones in reality. I use acrylics; it is the technique with which I feel more comfortable, since it allows me the quickness and spontaneity that I’m looking for.
